One of our projects is a new retail center in San Juan, TX. (South Texas near Edinburgh).
We are collaborating on this with 9YARDS. The design intent was to create a modern-styled retail center. There also needed to be visibility from an adjacent highway and feeder road. The result combines several materials... painted lap siding, stained vertical wood slat siding, stone, corrugated metal siding, and translucent panels.
Landscaping was also an important consideration to help buffer the building from the parking lot. All plant material is native or adapted to this region for drought-resistivity and connection to the area.
The massing and breaking down of a relatively large building into something a bit more sculptural than the typical retail center will make this a stand-out project in the area.
