Kennedy Architecture LLC: New Home Build in Friendswood, TX
Residential Architectural Design Incorporates Salvaged Materials and Mature Trees
On a corner lot in an older part of Friendswood, TX., we are nearing completion of a new home build. The lot had a dilapidated house on it that was torn down. However, we salvaged some of the tan brick and 1x6 roof decking and repurposed those materials into the design.
These along with cut limestone block, board and batten siding, horizontal lap siding, and exposed steel help break the scale of the house down into something more compatible in this older neighborhood. Breaking the house into various-sized volumes also contributed to this. On a corner lot in an older part of Friendswood, TX., we are nearing completion of a new home build.
This is an early computer model shot of the residential architectural design showing the house and eventual landscaping.
This is a recent photo of the same model shot view. Landscaping will soon be installed. We worked the design around two mature live oak trees. You can also see the salvaged materials worked in and around the front entrance.
